An update on my cut. Waist is getting way smaller, so is my butt. I am trying to hold on to as many gains as I possibly can. How am I doing that? A few things: Find your maintenance number and slowly cut down or raise up your cals (depending if you want to bulk or cut) I SLOWLY cut my cals down to a cut. The past few months I thought I was maintaining, but I was actually in a deficit. I finally came down to 2,000 a day, I have been the same weight (154 lbs) for a few months now so I am going to go down to 1,800 cals a day (this is kind of scary but I’m trusting the process) When deciding to cut or bulk, you NEVER want to go straight into it, you will end up losing gains, or you’ll just gain a bunch of fat. I suggest taking progress pictures every week/ getting on the scale every few days to see if your diet is working. No, the number on the scale doesn’t matter but I like to get technical with my training and tracking. Make sure when getting on the scale you have no food in your tummy, and no clothes on and make sure it’s the same time everyday. When cutting the SLOWER the better, this ensures you don’t lose your lean muscle mass. Don’t use cardio as a necessity, use it as a tool when you hit a plateau. I am currently doing 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week. I am going to wait and see if adjusting my cals works for weight loss and it it doesn’t then I’ll do 4-5 days a week of cardio- I do HIIT and LISS. 2 days HIIT 1 day LISS. I am also making sure I am hitting my protein goal, right now I’m at 160g, I make sure to have protein with every meal. I am also making sure I am training HARD everyday, I train 5 days a week at the moment. Split up into legs 3 days a week upper body twice and core 3-4. I am enjoying life, eating clean, and taking this 1 day at a time. The goal is to get down to a LOW body fat percentage and then slowly bulk back up, no time limit on this. I explained in detail why I’m cutting and what happened with my bulk, so if you want more info it’s my latest YouTube video. But long story short I realized to get to my goal I needed to take it slow. I always wanted to rush everything, and I ended up gaining a bunch of fat. (Continued in comments)
